On November 26, 2020, China National Electric Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CEI) formally signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on the “Joint Innovation Laboratory for 5G Intelligent Plants” with the Guangzhou Branch of China Telecom (CHA) at its headquarters. By this agreement, the two sides will work together to promote the innovative application of 5G technology in intelligent plants and facilitate enterprises’ digital transformation. For this exchange event, CEI assigned a delegation led by Yu Heqing, Deputy Chief Engineer of CEI to visit Guangzhou Telecom. Guo Li and Hu Baijiu, Deputy Directors of CEI’s Technology Business Department, Chen Jianbin, Deputy Director of CEI’s Complete Set Technology Business Department, Chen Zhi, Deputy General Manager of the Information Operation Center of China Telecom Guangzhou Branch, Wu Yinghong, General Manager of China Telecom Haizhu Branch, and Shen Chaoyang, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Haizhu Branch attended the signing meeting.
CEI delegation was invited to visit the Internet Ecological Base of Guangzhou Telecom, where the members watched China Telecom’s achievements in 5G+ industrial cloud, Big Data, Internet of Things, international business, and other aspects, and experienced China Telecom’s latest 5G applications, including 5G+VR and 5G+AGV. Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on this cooperation. Yu Heqing, Deputy Chief Engineer of CEI, expressed that this cooperation goes in line with the development trend of China’s industries related to 5G and industrial Internet. He said that CEI’s years of experience in manufacturing intelligent home appliances will provide a good application foundation for exploring new models of 5G Innovation Lab. He hoped that, in the future, both sides can complement each other’s advantages and explore more possibilities in 5G, big data, cloud platforms and other fields; Shen Chaoyang, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Haizhu Branch, noted that China Telecom will fully play its advantage in 5G business and work with CEI to explore the innovation model of 5G technology in the industrial field, to form typical industry application solutions, to promote the formulation of white papers or technical standards on 5G applications in relevant fields, and to continuously facilitate industrial enterprises’ information-based transformation.
At the exchange meeting, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on the “Joint Innovation Laboratory for 5G Intelligent Plants”. Next, both sides will focus on “5G Intelligent Plants” to put the innovation laboratory in place. The two sides will deeply cooperate in 5G applications, Internet of Things, big data, and other aspects to create a joint 5G innovation platform integrated with standard formulation, product R&D, equipment testing, and comprehensive display. The two sides will commit themselves to developing industry standards, innovative technologies, solutions, platforms, and human resources, work faster to digitalize the industry and from demonstration and radiation effect on relevant fields at home and abroad.
